Lips Close To Mine by Robin Bielman–Review and New Release

LipsCloseToMine-500[10280]

Lips Close To Mine is the second book in Robin Bielman’s ‘Wherever You Go’ series. This can be considered a standalone with Mateo and Teague making an appearance from Talk British To Me (reading this first isn’t necessary to this story.) LCTM revolves around Levi and Harper. Robin writes an exquisitely beautiful story full of angst, romance, humor and, of course, sexiness. The banter between the them is hilarious!

Levi is another book boyfriend for 2017. He is a sweet soul with manners, wears his heart truly on his sleeve, despite being afraid of being hurt again.

Harper is a well-loved former swimmer who does things to protect herself. She is close to her family and friends, but is leery of a relationship. She is a feisty person who is good at concealing her emotions.

“Levi Pierce is impossible to forget. He’s also maddening, infuriating, irritating and the reason my body hums even when he’s not near.”

Both Levi and Harper have experienced severe emotional trauma with lingering heartbreak. They both handle these issues in different ways. Harper is very closed off to anything emotional regarding love. She will not allow herself to get close to anyone of the male persuasion. Levi, on the other hand, has big trust issues, however, he has always felt something for Harper, but just doesn’t understand why she pushes him away. Can these two get it together and make it work? Will Levi’s past stay in his past? Will Harper learn how to let go and love again?

“Your heart is your friend, not your enemy”.

“When someone loses a family member, or is faced with tragedy that is beyond comprehension, the mind and body take refuge in a safe place. Sometimes, it takes the person on a journey that many people cannot conceive. It is my opinion that Steven will never be able to return to his former self.”

That quote was from one of my doctors that I saw while confined.

While it is true that the death of my father was very traumatic, what followed was truly real.

It was a battle of wills with the epitome of Evil.

Christopher resides in Fremont,Ohio,USA. A self confessed music nerd, he utilized real life experiences with a vivid imagination to write a fictional memoir, Almost Anonymous. A tale of a young musician’s battle to discover the real person inside. After positive reviews he was urged to write in a genre that was more popular. He chose Horror, and “The Killing of Miguel” was written. A story of a young man seeking revenge against an Agent of the Devil (Miguel) for stealing his father’s soul.

One Shot by B.J. Harvey–Review

ebook cover_One Shot

Ms. Harvey knows how to start a story. Dang, the prologue just sucks you in and makes you *gasp*. It is a very strong beginning to a great story. Since it was so intriguing, it was a very quick read that was easy to get immersed in and loose track of time.

One Shot is full of angst, tons of drama, happy romantic times as well as plenty of heartbreaking moments. Millen and Kenzie were enthralled with each other from the get go. Their chemistry is off the charts electric and the banter between them incredibly funny at times. This was one couple that just clicked from the get-go.

Millen is so incredibly sweet, but keeps personal and professional life close to his chest. Expectations were placed on him that he felt he had to obliged to, because he was the only son. He doesn’t agree with what’s expected of him, but doesn’t know what to do. One thing he never expected was Kenzie. She is his one and only.

Kenzie is a thirty-two year old manager at a local bar. After a brief stint as a cop in San Francisco she realizes her heart isn’t in it and decides to return home. She is happy and content with her life when Millen enters her bar. It was an immediate magnetic attraction. Due to some familial issues, she has a hard time trusting guys and has some personal rules she lives by. After spending an astounding weekend with Millen, she gets ghosts by him. This causes some internal strife. Does she stay and fight for him? Does she just give up and move on? Does she even trust her feelings? All this combined to one incredibly angsty book. Wow, what an ending.

There are some secondary characters that round out this immensely enjoyable cast. One of them happens to be Kenzie’s best friend, Gaby. The relationship between these two is off the charts hilarious. I love Gary’s spirit and was a welcome addition.

Overall, I give this book 5 stars. For this who may be leery to read this book, there is no cheating between the main characters. Truly, BJ Harvey has outdone herself with One Shot, proving that sometimes all you need is One Shot at love!

‘And I’m going to spend a lifetime loving you. Tonight, and all the tomorrows.’
