Stroke of Midnight by K Webster is now live!

From USA Today bestselling author K Webster comes a brand new forbidden romance that’s going to leave you speechless.
Money can buy anything. And anyone.
As the head of the Constantine family, I’m used to people bowing to my will. Cruel, rigid, unyielding–I’m all those things.
When I discover the one woman who doesn’t wither under my gaze, but instead smiles right back at me, I’m intrigued. Ash Elliott needs cash, and I make her trade in crudeness and degradation for it.
I crave her tears, her moans, her submission. I pay for each one. And every time, she comes back for more.
When she challenges me with an offer of her own, I have to decide if I’m willing to give her far more than cold hard cash. But love can have deadly consequences when it comes from a Constantine. At the stroke of midnight, that choice may be lost for both of us.

Excerpt

I don’t want to clean.

I want to sit behind a desk and crunch numbers. Talk shop. Plan expansions. My dad is an economic analyst, which is what I want to be too. I’d always imagined us going into business together and heading up our own firm.

Cleaning won’t get me there.

I suppose playing nice with Manda the Maneater is my only resort at this point.

For the next hour, I rush through all the offices that don’t need much more than the trash cans emptied, and then make it to the CEO’s office. One day, I’ll have an office like Winston Constantine, but I won’t be some old fuddy duddy. I’ll be a boss babe with style. My employees will love me, because I imagine I’ll be cool as hell. Rather than hire a boring interior designer like whatever robot chose the furniture and décor for Halcyon, I’ll do it all myself.

I’m once again daydreaming of my future that seems more and more murky these days as I fumble through my email on my phone to find the code to get into Big Man’s office. Of all the offices, this one is the coldest and most boring. As though whoever Winston Constantine is, he doesn’t do any sort of work, but instead gazes out the windows all day.

Finally, I locate the code and punch it in.

It’s like twelve numbers long, and I fail a few times before it grants me entry. With a sigh of frustration, I push the door open and drag my rolling cart in after me into the dark office. I hit the light switch with my elbow and leave my cart in front of the door to prop it open. I fidget with the dumb uniform skirt I have to wear and wonder if anyone would notice if I wore jeans instead.

I grab the duster and make a beeline over to the painting on the wall. It’s the best part of the office besides the cool desk that moves up and down and the windows overlooking the most picturesque parts of New York City. I touch the bottom of the frame to check for dust. As I imagined it to be, there’s not a speck.

I’m just moving to the bookshelves when I hear a creak.

“You’re supposed to clean it, not pretend,” a deep, furious voice growls, scaring the ever-loving shit out of me.

“What the fuck, man?” I snap, whirling around, dropping my duster in the process. “You can’t just sneak up…” I trail off as I drink in the man sitting in the desk chair.

Holy shit.

Was he here the whole time?

Fucking creepy!

But there’s nothing creepy about his looks. He’s not a fuddy duddy either, if this is Winston Constantine. He’s fine as hell.

Older. Dressed to the nines in a three-piece navy suit that looks custom-tailored and expensive. A handsome, villainous smirk on his face. His dark blond hair is shorter on the sides and longer on top, styled perfectly, making it look as though he came from a photoshoot at Gucci or something. Just enough scruff to give him an edge despite his otherwise clean-cut appearance. It’s his eyes that are mesmerizing.

Dark blue. Intense. Penetrating.

For some reason, it makes me think about my ex-boyfriend, Tate. The exact opposite of this man. Soft and sweet and gullible. Tate and I were a high school thing, but the moment we graduated a couple of weeks ago, we amicably broke it off knowing we were headed in different directions. This guy looks anything but soft, sweet, or gullible.

He looks scary.

Scary hot.

But still scary.

I clear my throat. “Sorry. I’ll just empty your trash and be out of your way.”

“No,” he rumbles, his voice dripping in a menacing tone. “I’ve been waiting for you. It’s time we chat, little girl.”

Stroke of Midnight–Review

Reminiscent thoughts of Cinderella: two evil stepsisters who are rotten to the core, an evil stepmother whom is not very fond of her, goes to the ball with the help of a fairy godmother, the King is upset that the Prince is not married yet, Cinderella meeting the Prince, but has to run off, before they can get to know one another. Famously, leaving behind her glass slipper. (Insert the happiness/dreaminess of most young girls everywhere.)

Well, Ms. Webster is truly thoughtful. She did not want the adult woman to forget their younger dreams. So, she wrote Stroke of Midnight, a manual of sorts, a grown-up adult female guide to modern ‘Princes’. There are a lot of key principles replicated from the original telling of Cinderella, but with an adult twist. 😏💙

Ash Elliot and Winston Constantine are the lucky participants in ‘Stroke’ of Midnight’ and let us just say that Ash is getting a lot more than she was expecting. Winston Constantine is a handful and I whole heartedly agree to handle anything Ash cannot handle. Major problem for Ash, her new soon-to-be husband, wants only her, not anyone else, so she is stuck with him in this arranged marriage.

I admit, I am a Disney lover, but I will gladly take on Winston and this version. He’s filthy, wicked, dirty, sexy, kinky, and possessive. Ash, in a way, is a breath of fresh air. She gives off this pure, virginal, and sweet innocence and to a point she is. She is also, however, not afraid to stand up for herself. Ash, Cinderelliot, loves to push Winston’s buttons, whether it is to provoke him to slightly squabble back and forth, to show she still has a backbone and is a person, or for her own sexual gain. In any case, this sweet, innocent, kinky ‘princess’ is beginning to experience there is more to this world and a whole other side to her kinky prince!

You’re going to ruin me.”

“Why’s that?”

“Because your lies feel like truth.”

The witty banter, out of this world sexual chemistry, and uncomfortable experiences are everything to this book. I freely admit, that during some parts of this book, it made me check my morals…(I’m checking, please hold)…Yep, morals were checked and thrown away at the door. Ms. Webster is a master at making you feel/experience not only what her characters go through but makes sure that she twists that proverbial knife in just a little bit more to keep you on the edge!

K. Webster did something special in intertwining an original Disney story with her writing and interactions with kink. To me, this was a fabulous book. The interaction between the two worlds (not even mentioning the ‘Terror Triplets’) was fabulous. This may not be for everyone, but it really is a romance book at its core. Last thing to Ms. Webster, December, ugh. December cannot come soon enough, lady!!😉❣❣

Trick Me Twice by Becca Steele–Review

I will not be ‘Tricked’ by Becca Steele. After writing drool-worthy, flaming hot, domineering alphas in her previous series, The Four, I was curious to see what the characters would be like in TMT. Well, if drool-worthy alphas are your thing, (and it should be), you would be extremely happy to hear, that Ms. Steele, delivered!

Carter Blackthorne is a delicious concoction of charming, intense, wicked, untouchable, and downright god-worthy in his appearance (stay back ladies, he is mine). He along with his 2 friends, Kian and Xavier are ‘The three Kings of Alstone High’. Just to witness their swagger and to be present in their ‘air’, you would know how untouchable and almighty they are. These may be boys in high school, but, their anthem should be, ‘Boyz 2 Men’, because these alphas are all men.

“Little Trickster”

Raine Laurent is a breath of fresh air. She is your typical good girl, the shy and quiet introvert with only one friend, Lena. Lena is good for Raine, she tries to get her out of her shell and enjoy life. One event that Lena took her to was a county run event called Fright Night. So, what does one come across at Fright Night, how about three guys all dressed in black with the only exception being a purge mask (neon X for eyes and neon line for mouth.) Raine knew right away she was in trouble.

Carter and Raine have this wild and wonderful dichotomy, pushing each other in their give and take. I love the way they were written and the overall message of good vs. bad, alpha swag vs. blooming confidence. Ms. Steele wrote this back/forth and push/pull so well, creating the drama and suspense that I was hooked from beginning to end!!

“You know what my feeling are towards you? Indifferent. In order to hate you, I’d have to care about you. You’re nothing to me. Insignificant.”

I love everything about this book. The storyline, plotline, characters (including crossovers from The Four), the cover, the blindsided twists and turns, the angst, gah, the angst!! Everything! I loved it, I could not wait to read more and then the two most dreaded words to a bibliophile…The End! NOOOO, I wanted more! I guess Becca did get a trick on me, all this yumminess and BAM (Emeril Lagasse style) …The End!! In all seriousness, Trick Me Twice is an amazing book. One click it and read this book!!

“Are you willing to pay the price? Trick him once, but don’t trick him twice.”
