BLURB:

It all starts with a bucket list and a romance novel…

I’ve known Ryder McAdams my entire life.  We’re neighbors and our families are besties.  He’s also friends and teammates with my younger brother, Maverick.

But Ryder and me?

We’ve never been close.  In fact, I’ve always gotten the distinct impression he doesn’t like me very much.  He goes out of his way to ignore me.

Know what makes it worse?

The electricity that hums in the air every time our gazes collide.  It sizzles through my body until I feel it in the tips of my fingers and toes.  Whoever said that you can’t control who you’re attracted to was, unfortunately, right.

I’ve done my best to stomp it out.

We’ve been at Western for three years and only come in contact when forced to interact.  He’s busy partying it up and getting it on with his fangirl club.  I’ve spent most of my college experience studying at the library so I can apply to the med school of my choice.

One drunken night changes everything when Ryder takes me home and finds the bucket list I wrote before freshman year.

Know how many things I’ve ticked off since then?

Zero.  Zilch.  Nada.

For some strange reason, Ryder decides he’ll be the one to help tackle each item before graduation.

That would be all fine and good, except there’s some pretty schmexy stuff on there…

Like the big O.

Hate You Always by Jennifer Sucevic–Review

Jennifer Sucevic, I want to thank you for introducing me to my newest 2023 book boyfriend. Ryder McAdams is perfection!!

Ryder McAdams and Juliette McKinnon have three things in common. 1) Her younger, but completely overprotective brother, Maverick. Maverick is also Ryder’s best friend and teammate. 2) Each has secretly had a crush on the other since they were young, but never crossed the line. 3) A secret bucket list. Out of respect for the McKinnon family, Ryder kept his feelings hidden, while Juliette had the impression that he didn’t like her. Things change once Ryder sees her bucket list.

The angst, slow burn, and all-out tension are so palpable that it just oozes from the pages. Jennifer has written an exquisite enemies/acquaintance to lovers with Ryder and Juliette. To see them blossom individually yet continue to bloom and grow as a couple was heartwarming. The story, scenes, and transitions flowed from one to the other making this a complete page-turner.

Bravo on a book well written!

“Ryder McAdams is the last person I should be fallig fo. And I know it. But how do I stop the fall when it already feels like I’ve tumbled ovver the edge and am in mid-descent?”

You Will Bow by Rachel Leigh–New Release and Book Review

We Will Reign pulled me in and turned me into an addict. You Will Bow fulfilled my fix for this foursome and left me lusting for more.

This book included storylines of all four characters, but it did lean more on the Lev side. I am not going to say anything specific about Lev, except that he had a great storyline from beginning to end. It was wonderful to see the transformation.

“Lev is many things, but if I had to choose a word that best describes him, it would be heartless.”

Rachel Leigh also wrote a plotline that seduced you into all the twists, turns, and suspense that ended on a killer cliffhanger. I NEED book three to see how it ends.

“You are perfection personified, and every flaw only makes you that much more desirable. I want every bit of you. Forever.”

You Will Bow by Rachel Leigh!

My first year at college has been anything but ordinary.
After spending so much energy to trying to protect my secret, I failed to realize it’s not the past I need to fear—It’s my future that’s at stake. I’ve finally found someone who doesn’t judge me for my sins and stays by my side while I trudge through the shadowy corners of my past.
The only problem is, his friends have other plans.
One watches me day and night—painting a picture of a disturbed life together.
And the other is hanging my secret over my head as leverage to aide in his own scheme.
But everyone has a weakness, and that weakness will be mine.

There once was a sicko
who watched me day and night.
His invisible leash,
never let me out of his sight. His friends were unlike him,
one a monster I feared.
The other bled crimson,
with a heart that was pure.

I’ll Always Be With You by Monica Murphy–Review

I am a sucker for anything dance related. If you show me a pair of ballet pointe shoes, I am in. This Monica Murphy book was everything a YA/NA book should be.

I have to say, I don’t know which character I liked best. Carolina and West are a beautiful symbiotic combination of give and take. Carolina can be prickly and bitchy, while Weston can be calm and non-confrontational. He knows when to push her buttons and enjoys watching her bloom. Now, don’t get me wrong, West can be everything a possessive, demanding, over-the-top Hero should be, he just knows how to use this to his advantage when interacting with Carolina.

IABWY is an easy read. It does minorly deal with some sensitive topics, such as eating disorders. Due to Carolina’s strenuous work schedule, it is alluded to that she may have an eating disorder. Ordering salads with veggies and no other frills or her mother continually saying snide comments on this topic. Despite all of this, I fell in love with Caroline and West and their storyline.

Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack–Review

Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Angelo and Lu have been best friends since birth. With both of their parents also being best friends, each has grown up seeing the other as ‘Aunt’ and ‘Uncle’ despite not being blood-related.

Angelo is two years older than Luc and has always been her protector. Due to this closeness, each has secretly harbored feelings of true love toward the other. Angelo wants Luc to experience life before he reveals his feelings and Luc doesn’t want to ruin a friendship. This theme is peppered throughout the story, making so many missed chances and opportunities, that it made me want to ‘Grrr’ when they wouldn’t talk to each other. Complete and utter frustration (which of course amps up the angst level)!

Fast forward a couple of years and Luc finds herself in a shocking situation and the only person she wants to talk to and get comfort from is Angelo.

I fell in love with Angelo’s sweet, protective, and over-the-top possessive nature. He displayed a full range of emotions while trying to find his purpose and plan in life. While only being two years younger, Luc’s personality is both younger/immature, yet, grown up as well. She’s this interesting mixture of both personalities. While something happened between the two of them, that saddened me, they do eventually end up with a nice HEA.
